Another day has come to an end in the beautiful city of Paramaribo. The night sets in as you stand here on the balcony of the penthouse at the Wyndham Garden Hotel enjoying a great overview of downtown Paramaribo. A cool breeze blows while the moon and the stars become visible against the clear night sky. In the distance the Jules Albert Wijdenbosch bridge looks like a bridge of light over the Suriname river, connecting Paramaribo to the district of Commewijne. Also prominently visible is the Hakrinbank building, currently the second highest building in Paramaribo, claiming its place against the skyline of Paramaribo with big red letters spelling the word “Hakrinbank” on all four sides of the building.
At 35 meters, the Wyndham Garden building is the highest building in Paramaribo and opened its doors to the public on September 3rd 2011. Looking down through the glass ceiling of the atrium, you can see all the way down to the lobby on the first floor of the building.
